This fireplace was inspired by an outdoor fireplace at Fisherman Bay peninsula on Lopez Island. It features Cascade River rock, a cut granite lintel, and a massive single hearthstone of basalt.

The tall, shallow profile of the Rumford-style firebox is designed to radiate heat more efficiently into the room. A streamlined “throat” in the chimney allows smoke to escape easily, allowing for better indoor air quality.

Multicolored river rock, clear granite, and smooth basalt all compliment each other in this traditionally styled fireplace.

  • Cascade River Rock
  • Rumford firebox with outside air supply

  • Single “Huckleberry” basalt hearth stone
