Ballard Lutheran Church—Seattle, Washington

New brick balcony and entry
Architect: Ron Wright & Associates
The church's original intention for this project was to simply restore certain elements of the church and to clean and seal the exterior. Then the Nisqually Earthquake struck Seattle and the project was augmented to include the new and safer porch.
This project was particularly rewarding since I am local guy from Ballard and of Norwegian descent.
It was very important to maintain the architectural integrity of the church, and for the new elements to match the existing pre-cast and brickwork; we feel that we achieved this goal.
Architectural elements included:
- Raked brick walls and railings
- Architectural pre-cast elements that matched the existing ones
- New brick work that matched the old work
- Infill work
